Cultural Complexities: Great Faith, Great Doubt and Great Determination

Purpose: To create an atmosphere that fosters inclusion of diversity that both acknowledges the struggles and opportunities that "difference" creates. This workshop is intended as a starting point for discussion, procedures and action around diversity and inclusion in your organization.

What do we do with the disconnect between head knowledge and action? How can we, at an intellectual level, know so much about racism, while at the same time unintentionally perpetuate racist behaviors? Sometimes the answers arrive by muddling through what "is". There is great merit in exploring how Great Faith, Great Doubt and Great Determination are necessary components to exploring the muck and the mire of our individual complexities.

FAITH is Truth as we understand it in this place, at this time, at this point in the development of our spiritual growth. It is (y)our truth, for us here, for us now. DOUBT is the part of us that questions...everything...all of the time. It is the part of us that is always open to new information, new interpretations, and new points of view. It is the voice inside of us that asks, "What if I'm wrong? What if this isn't all there is? What if I'm missing something?" It is the part of us that refuses to settle for the status quo…or even settle for our current position at any given point in time.

GREAT DETERMINATION is the part of us that continually looks for the commonalities between groups and ideas rather than focusing on the differences that are often exploited to separate us. It is the driving force toward the discovery of the timeless and ageless Truth that has existed since the beginning of time. It is the journey toward Truth that transcends every conceivable difference between races, religions, governments, or preferences. It is continually engaged in the relentless pursuit of the Divine Presence that manifests itself in every individual and in every situation. Without GREAT DETERMINATION, the combination of Great Faith and Great Doubt would leave us in a cloud of confusion and internal conflict. Come explore how these three can be a road map towards clearing the waters in the ebb and flow of racial tides.

This interactive workshop can be conducted in a 2, 4, and 8 hour format
