The idea of dealing with people on a human level with unlimited possibilities is an idea on which Mike is willing to bank his career. This attorney knows the ins and outs of the rigid structure of the law, yet refuses to be limited by the competition such structure brings. His integrity and passion for the truth disseminate through his work, leading to the best possible outcomes for his clients. Mike is very intuitive. His ability to communicate is a mix of direct authority and an engaged enthusiasm that inspires those around him.

Mike began his legal career at the boutique business law firm Timmis & Inman, PC, where he specialized in business litigation, contracts, and mergers and acquisitions. He ventured out on his own in 2002, founding Suchowski and Suchowski, PLC. with his wife, Heather. The mission of their firm was to provide clients an opportunity to resolve disputes early, with as little financial and emotional cost as possible. Mike quickly realized there was much that could be done to offer clients an alternative to the headaches of traditional legal battles. Thus, he followed his passion, becoming an expert in mediation and organizational and individual conflict. Mike is a member of the Michigan Collaborative Law Institute, an organization focused on out-of-court settlements for families and businesses. He was retained to present the first three Collaborative Law cases in Detroit's Tri-County area. Mike has received over 200 hours of mediation, negotiation and conflict resolution training, including training on conflict management systems from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at the Pepperdine University School of Law. The Straus Institute has been named number one, seven times by the U.S. News & World Report as the most comprehensive academic program in conflict management in the nation.

In 2007, Mike was intimately involved in the creation of a conflict management system for a Big Three automaker, where he was able to assess current systems and design a plan to decrease legal costs, increase efficiency and improve customer service.

As much as he enjoys the "behind the scene" work of these systems, Mike has a passion and talent for public speaking and has taught many group seminars on interpersonal conflict, negotiation, discrimination/harassment and collaborative culture. He speaks semi-annually to groups facing family trauma such as divorce. Mike has taught in various places throughout the United States and abroad in Belo Horizante, Brazil. He was also asked to present a seminar on conflict resolution to the Caribbean Leaders at the 2007 National Prayer Breakfast, where he shared his vision for a conflict competent international culture.

Mike views conflicting ideas as key ingredients to creative resolve. Many of us are culturally trained to either "cave-in" or "conquer." This kind of approach usually leaves one or both parties dissatisfied. Mike's irresistible compulsion to uncover underlying issues is a force that efficiently resolves conflict and strengthens relationships. As such, he has been retained as a coach to core teams of top-tier management in companies that desire to effect culture change and build lasting working relationships, top-down.

Mike's talents are gloriously simple, deceptively sophisticated, and immensely varied. His conversational repertoire is able to remove barriers and uncover the existing common ground between people and groups.

Mike currently resides in Troy, Michigan with his wife, Heather and two children, Jake and Kate.
