Greg McDonald is the co-founder of CultureMD and long-time professional in consumer packaged goods and food industries. Greg's love for people, passion for culture, and broad knowledge of business and industry provides unique insights for our clients in their quest to attract and retain the best employees while fostering customer relationships and service.
Greg's career began in 1976, with the Kroger Company and in the same year he joined the Detroit-based McMahon & McDonald, a regional sales and marketing company.
In 1997, McMahon & McDonald merged with Chicago-based PMI Eisenhart, which then strategically merged with Jacksonville-based Acosta in 1998. Greg was an instrumental force in Acosta's transformation into a full-service North American sales and marketing agency.
At Acosta, Greg's talent and unwavering commitment to the team rapidly earned him roles of increasing responsibility including: Vice President General Manager, Senior Vice President Meijer Team Leader, and Executive Vice President with responsibility for over 2000 associates and annual retail sales of 7 billion dollars. Based on his obvious ability to motivate and encourage others through candor and genuine concern, in 1998, Greg was selected by Acosta's CEO to chair a national culture committee. He and his team forged a core set of values and operating principles that became the foundation of the company, which is regarded as their greatest asset.
Greg has served on numerous Advisory Boards including The Clorox Company, McNeil, and Nestle, which gives him unprecedented access to dozens of the fortune 500's and their cultures. This, combined with Greg's experience and steadfast conviction of putting people first, makes him a leading authority in corporate culture.
His outstanding leadership skills in the areas of culture, operations and sales, has marked his career. An entrepreneur at heart, Greg's passion has acted as the catalyst that has fueled his success.
Greg is active in his community where he advises organizations such as Young Life, Pregnancy Resource Center and Grand Rapids Theological Seminary in the areas of strategy and development. He resides in Harbor Springs, Michigan with his wife, Lynn and is the father of their two grown children, Connie and Greg junior.
